Gasoline shortages in the UK turn serious, panic buying not subsiding
英国でガソリン不足深刻に パニック買い収まらず
According to the Petrol Retailers Association, of which around 70% of the UK’s 8,000 gas stations nationwide are members, 50-90% of gas stations have run out of gasoline.
According to local media, the British government is considering mobilizing the Army to transport gasoline. It is also prepared to temporarily cease applying competition law so that they can jointly transport gasoline and share information with each other.
The trigger was that British oil giant BP announced it would close some of its gas stations on the 23rd. Due to a shortage of drivers, fuel could not be transported and they were forced to close. This aroused people's anxiety and caused panic buying.
