今回は、日本を代表する企業である、トヨタに関する記事をご紹介します。国内でも新型コロナの影響を受けた企業は大小、業種問わず数えきれませんが、半導体などの部品不足が続き、トヨタも少なからずその影響を受けたようです。ただ、トンネルの出口も見えない経済低迷の真っただ中、トヨタでは業績回復の見通しがたっているようです。世界の同業他社とは違っていたトヨタの対策とは何だったのでしょうか？

Toyota's global production to hit 10 million units in fiscal 2022 as chip shortage eases
トヨタ世界生産、22年度1000万台 半導体不足解消で
At present, the global shortage of semiconductors is hampering the production of automakers. A Toyota executive stated in an interview that the company expects future procurement of semiconductors to "normalize next year and doesn't foresee any impact on production." An executive at a parts manufacturer also said, "We are planning to increase production from the fall of 2021."
Toyota drew on lessons learned from the parts shortage after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, and increased inventories of semiconductors and other components throughout its supply chain. By preparing for unforeseen circumstances, Toyota seems to have been less affected by the semiconductor shortage compared to overseas giants like Volkswagen (VW) of Germany and General Motors (GM) of the US.
